Three Mountain Cafe

I couldn’t find an outlet to charge my laptop close to a comfy chair. That was my biggest problem, maybe only problem, with Three Mountain Café. They use roasts from a few different providers, but I had a very nice Costa Rican roast which was easy on the palate and had a very smooth finish. There were restrooms, a wonderful and welcoming vibe, friendly staff, and comfortable seating, including couches and rocking chairs. Instead of wanting people to make a purchase and “get out,” Three Mountain Café seems to want you to stay and tell everyone how great of a place it is. One point of interest is the café is covered with tropical themed palm trees and colors. I asked why this was and was told the owner wanted to inspire nice, sunny weather (that’s getting pretty creative right there). Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding Sugarbush, or hiking in the area in the summer, this is a must!

As for things to do, there is no shortage of options to expend all that caffeinated energy. Hike one of the many peaks within a stone’s throw, check out the rest of town…there’s a great bookstore down the road named Tempest which has an incredible selection. You’re also right on Route 100. Head about 20 miles north on a beautiful road and get to the resort town of Stowe which has a great recreation path you can walk or bike on. Waterbury Center is about halfway to Stowe and has some amazing restaurants including the Prohibition Pig and The Reservoir.

Overall, I would rate Three Mountain Café a 4.9 out of 5
