The Traveler Restaurant

Wow, this place is different. Located right off I-84 on the Massachusetts and Connecticut border this restaurant could be called a blast from the past, but not even that fits the ticket properly.  Here we have a restaurant with a lot of tables and space that feels more like a small roadside diner.  While coffee is not something they specialize in, it was not a bad brew.  I ordered a hamburger and fries (got off to a late start this morning) and found out you get three free books with every meal.  The food was satisfying but nothing incredible…I wouldn’t write home about it.

I would not suggest this spot if you’re looking for a modern café or a grande latte with a double shot, but if you are looking for something different and a few free books, this is your spot.

Add a trip to Old Sturbridge Village or a nice walk at Bigelow Hollow to make a day of it.

Overall, I rate The Traveler Restaurant a 3.9 out of 5
