Sturbridge Coffee House

Not sure if they are serving Red Barn or Brilla coffee beans, maybe both…anyways the coffee is a solid 4/5. Per normal, I drink black coffee for these reviews and this coffee was a little dark for a house blend (not burnt, just very dark) similar to a French or Sumatran roast.

There is plenty of parking but it’s an uphill walk up to the café. I’m not sure if it is always as busy as it was at 11:30am on a Saturday but this place was jammed with people. There was a 15 minute wait to get to the counter but the lunch that people were getting looked great. I myself got a powdered jelly donut which was generously filled with jam and was quite delicious.

There is ample seating at the café but some of it does seem to be “disconnected” from the rest of the café.  Upon entering you will also see some locally made items which add a local feel to the coffee shop.

Sturbridge is a classic New England town that is located about 60 miles west of Boston off Route 90.  Drive east from the coffee house and enjoy a nice view of the Public House, an old tavern across the street from a very nice town common shadowed by some beautiful houses and the public library.

Overall, I rank Sturbridge Coffee House a 4.1 out of 5
