Tunnel City Coffee

Not a hard review to write here. Tunnel City Coffee is an excellent spot and exactly what I look for in a true coffee shop. You will have a choice between light and dark roast, which was a Guatemalan (Dark Roast), and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (Light Roast). I always like the light roasts better but this time the Guatemalan dark roast was not far behind, with plenty of flavor in every sip without the usual bitterness. Tunnel City Coffee also roasts their own beans, which are sold in the café. There are restrooms and Wi-Fi available which makes this a perfect stop for the tired traveler looking for a great cup of coffee and to connect to the internet for a bit. My only real complaint is the seating is not very comfortable…that’s pretty much it.

Plenty of activities in the North Adams area. Mount Greylock is the tallest mountain in Massachusetts and is a nice hike with a decent altitude change. Tunnel City Coffee is also located on the same property as The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. You can buy adult tickets for $20 ($8 for kids) which is a steal for what they have inside. Not hard to have an action-packed day in the North Adams area, a truly beautiful part of the state.

Overall, I would rate Tunnel City Coffee a 4.7 out of 5
